My New Website

Just dropping by to let you know that my new website is finally open for you to see! Please visit Daintysaurus.com, my website dedicated to creative souls, and take a look around!! I'm so happy that it's finally availabe for you guys to see and visit, but I still have plenty of work to do over there with posting and so much more behind the scenes work =)

In other news, we finally got our pool set-up today!!! YES!! It's actually only about 2/3rds of the way full right now, we'll finish filling it up tomorrow and then I foresee a lot of lounging around in the pool and plenty of cleaning bugs out of it (oh my, the bugs are sooo bad this year!!) but I'm really looking forward to having a pool!

I have another trip to Canada planned for later this month, gotta see my husband and our 3 year old son again! Long distance relationships suck! The trip is only a little over a week long, and since it's gonna be hot summer weather this time we are gonna do some fun stuff like go camping, go swimming in the great lakes, and take a road trip! It's gonna be great!

I would love some colorful furniture to get into my life.. just looking at it makes me feel happy. =) I requested an invite to join Pinterest, but so far all I'll gotten from them is an email saying that I was added to the waiting list.. how unfair =P

The Holstee Manifesto

Found here, original source here. I liked it so much I thought I would share it!! <3

Doodle Diary Sneak Peeks

I have been trying to focus on my creativity for this year, one of the things I started doing was to keep a "Doodle Diary" and here are some pictures of what's in it =)

Right now it's a lot of writing and messing around with handwritten fonts and crazy lettering. Typography. I will work on getting more drawings and doodles in there, too. I really enjoy having a diary for my doodles, you should make one for yourself some time!

Inspiration: Oil Pastels

I used to own a couple boxes of oil pastels, but when I got to thinking about where they are now.. I'm pretty sure I sold them on eBay a few years ago. Figures.

I love the look you can get when drawing with oil pastels, I love pretty much everything about them. All the colors they are available in, how they blend, the finished work. Sigh. Let's take a look at some oil pastels pictures from Google! Sources located below the photos.

I guess I'll look around and make absolutely certain I no longer own my oil pastels =) if not, then I'm gonna be doing a lot of wishful thinking on buying more!!

Inspiration: 1000 Artist Journal Pages

I made another trip to the local library today, I had to return my last batch of books and then I found a few new ones to check out. I'm really into art journals lately, there is so much information on the internet about them and soooooooo many images of the journal pages! It's super inspiring! At first I didn't think my library had any books on the subject, but then when I searched under "sketchbook journal" that was the magic topic that bought up all the results!

 source: craftside.typepad.com *awesome crafty blog!*

I've decided that art journaling is something that I really want to do, and last night I started altering a sketchbook by gluing together pages and gluing scrap pages of magazines over that and then covering that with white gesso. It's a time consuming process! I found this book right on time, if you are interested in art journaling I highly suggest you find this book and take a look through it. It's VERY inspiring and includes journal pages from artist all over the world!

The book is: 1,000 Artist Journal Pages: Personal Pages & Inspiration by Dawn DeVries Sokol ... clicking the link will take you to the Amazon page, where the book is available for purchase :) Or, you just can hope your local library has a copy of it!!

P.S. Brand new episode of Glee tomorrow night!! Tues 8pm Eastern.. it's the BRITNEY SPEARS episode!!

Uhmmm... Amazing?!?!

So I was stumbling through a few blogs and one of them had some photographs done by MarieClaire Roman.. and she's AMAZING. You should go visit her blog right now. >>> LINK

Have you visited her blog yet? This girl is super talented and she's gonna be famous some day :)

Inspiration: Art Journal pages

Sources for images located under the pics ;) Don't these pages seem as if they must take forever to create?

(( there is tons of art journal inspiration to be found there!! ))

(( lots more journal pages there too!! ))

I am especially fond of Donna's pages, because they are closer to what I might actually create in an art journal (like... actual journal entries? words????? haha) I'm done for now, I just baked cupcakes and now I'm going to frost them! YUM.

Inspired: Art Journal

I don't know why I had never heard of art journaling until a few months ago, but I am loving the idea of it! A journal where you can paint, scrap, etc and write journal entries right there in the middle of it all? Sounds like a perfect way to capture that particular time of your life to me.

There is a Art Journal online class that Elsie & Rachel are hosting that I would love to be a part of :) It's $60 to join though, and I'm not quite sure I'll be able to afford it =/ Sign-ups don't start until April 1st (yay! time to collect money! haha) and the 6 week class starts on April 26th. It sounds like a lot of work but you get to work at your own pace, and make your very own journal masterpiece! I look forward to the inspiration, and to learning a little more about myself. Wow, Late Night.

I have been deprived of the internet for the last few weeks and now I can't seem to get away from it! HAH. That's terrible! I am searching for storage ideas for my soon to be created crafty space. Shall I share? Okay..

Inspiration via Audrey Hepburn

I love images w/ quotes on them :) All of these images were found by using google image search..

And more lovely quotes by Audrey Hepburn..........

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, it's at the end of your arm, as you get older, remember you have another hand: The first is to help yourself, the second is to help others.
I decided, very early on, just to accept life unconditionally; I never expected it to do anything special for me, yet I seemed to accomplish far more than I had ever hoped. Most of the time it just happened to me without my ever seeking it.
I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person.
I only wish there were a million more quotes to be found by this inspiring lady!!
